JCIP Liter of Light Project Launched in Davao City

Used plastic bottle as a source of light? Is that even possible? Of course it is.

Solar bottle bulbs are lights made out of 1.5 or 2-L PET water or soda bottles that use no electricity and produce the same amount of light as a 55-watt incandescent bulb and can last up to 2-5 years. These are made by mixing filtered water with chlorine and salt. Nearly anyone can make these lights and install them using scrap GI sheet and rubber sealant  where a hole can be cut in the ceiling to allow direct sunlight.

The Liter of Light Project of the Junior Chamber International Philippines(JCIP) was launched in Davao City for the second year in a row. JCPI, in partnership with My Shelter Foundation, aims to implement the Liter of Light Project in at least 100 cities and 10,000 households in the Philippines in 2013.
